Legislative Chair

Board Member:
David Bark
Job Description:

One of the PTA's stated goals is to advocate for legislation that is favorable to children and education. As such, the state and national PTA send out bulletins and maintain web sites allowing PTA units to keep informed of legislation and also the PTA's position on proposed legislation. The legislative chair keeps the local units informed of these positions (which are not always in agreement with her own views) during regular meetings. The PTA is non-partisan and does not endorse political candidates or parties, but does take positions regarding some issues (for example, certain ballot propositions).
