The GATE/DAC representative attends one meeting per month at Ballard Center in Old town. The GATE personnel from the district as well as the San Diego Unified parent GATE Committee Chairmen run these meetings. School Board members speak more often than not, but other speakers who are experts in gifted education/child rearing also attend.
The GATE/DAC rep reports to the general PTA once per month, and schedules and coordinates one or two GATE parent meetings at LJHS per year. In addition, they are responsible for reviewing the GATE site plan for LJHS, with Bev Greco, who is the GATE VP at LJHS.
