AP Workshop Chair
The College Board contracts with La Jolla High School to host an Advanced Placement (AP) Teacher’s Conference. Approximately 375 AP teachers from around the nation attend this day long workshop. The PTA provides and serves a continental breakfast, a mid-morning snack, and lunch. We are paid $20 per person for this service. The AP Workshop is the largest fundraiser for the LJHS PTA.
The AP Chair coordinates the day’s activities as it relates to the serving of the food. This includes working with the school personnel to set up the room, recruiting and assigning volunteers, purchasing and serving the food, and cleaning up the food service items after lunch. Leftover food is donated to charity. The work day is 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM on a Saturday. About 3 hours of set up is required the Friday before the event.
