What PTA Provides to the Families of La Jolla High School

The PTA provides valuable programs and services that benefit the students of La Jolla High.  For example:

  • Registration, Blast Off, Senior Exhibitions, CPR Training,  Senior Grad Night, and many other programs are organized and managed by PTA volunteers.
  • The PTA keeps parents informed and connected by sending eBlasts, managing the PTA website, and preparing the newsletter.
  • Teachers and staff depend on PTA mini-grants to purchase basic supplies such as dictionaries and classic books, materials for science labs, and health supplies for the school nurse.
  • The PTA gives annual gifts to the school that cover campus improvements, and contributes to the Academic and Technology Funds of the Foundation for La Jolla High School.
  • PTA volunteers provide refreshments, willing hands and cheerful smiles for countless breakfast, lunch and evening meetings, and staff appreciation events throughout the school year.
  • Annually, PTA members donate thousands of hours in service to La Jolla High School.

What sets PTA apart from school foundations and other groups is that we are a membership organization. Membership creates strong connections between the community and school. By joining your PTA, people are saying "I support this school, I support public education and I support kids!!"
