The PTA and the LJHS Interact Club will be working together to collect electronic waste and raise money for La Jolla High School again this year.

Here's a fun way to volunteer at LJHS and be impressed by the calibre of our Senior Class!

We're looking for parents of all grades to volunteer as panel members to evaluate Senior Exhibitions for the Class of 2012. The Senior Exhibition is a graduation requirement. Each student makes a short presentation to a panel about a subject that has made a significant impact of his or her life. The student must demonstrate a mastery of several skills, including writing, speaking, organizing and critical thinking. Volunteer panelists judge the presentations. Topic matter varies widely - last year ranging from original piano compositions to "Guacamole and the Role It Plays in My Life." Volunteer panelists overwhelmingly responded that their experience left them extremely proud of LJHS and its impressive student body.

At Friday's PTA meeting, three parent volunteers were recognized by the LJHS PTA for their extraordinary and generous volunteer service to La Jolla High School!  Please join me in Congratulating Sarah Schrier, Kathy Fackler and Linda Dowley for each receiving a PTA Honorary Service Award!

Each year, the PTA provides a gift to La Jolla High School.  At the end of the the 2010-2011 school year, PTA sponsored a project for AP Art students to create art installations in girls & boys bathrooms. The project was supervised by Mrs. Shamrock and PTA volunteer, Jane Wheeler.
